There are variety of small icons to choose from, from dull colors to bright colors, from simple to complex shapes. The most famous small icons probably famfamfam’s silk icons.
Couple days ago the author of Led Pixel Icon sets email me, notifying about his new Icon stock. Instantly I hit the download button, and amazed by the details of his work.
I was always felt the Gmail interface for iPhone is way to basic, with its superior browser Google capable of making a better Gmail interface for iPhone. Many people have requested new feature, soon we use the new interface. There are alots of imporvement, in iPhone now you can get labels, and threaded message which is two of Gmail top feature.
The new interface need iPhone 2.2.1, sadly my iPhone is still 2.1, I better to upgrade and unlock, jailbraked it.
I like everything about customization. Everyday I use browsers, after switched to Firefox from Safari due to nasty cookies bug on Mac OS X 10.5.6. I starting to enjoy Firefox, version 3.x is faster and responsive. Right now, I am enjoying a customization extension, called Personas. With personas, you can skin Firefox windows into anything you like.
Are you one of kind of people who constantly changing the application icons? Well, I am on of the kind. I like to change application icons that are installed on my Mac. The replacement icons can be found in customization forums, blogs, sites or at DeviantArt. Those icons are scattered all over the places, looking for a cool firefox icons I have to fiddling into many pages and searches. So, I have this idea to make a repository site for all replacement icons, sounds a big project, right? Turned out it was pretty simple and straight forward. And then born, SubIcons . Started on mid February.
Windows desktop is not as pretty as Mac, especially the aging Windows XP. There are various theme software that works with Windows, but most of them are pricey. Recently LifeHacker has posted a way to minimalistic but beauty dekstop using Enigma installer.
For most people creating Fav Icon for your blog or site is a difficult tasks. Even for illustrator and designer, creating 16×16 pixels icons is a stressor. It’s because they are not proficient on creating image in tiny pixels and in 1:1 size.
If you have a large logo of your site, scale it down to around 50 pixels, and use Favicon Generator to make your fav icon ready to use.
Available now: 12 free chocolate icons for your sweet February. Chococons are availabe for Mac, Windows and PNG for website owners. I made all size from 512 pixels to 16 pixels.
We have been waiting Façade for so long, I hope it won’t be a favorware. But, Façade is not the only theming application. There is this Cloak app, able to cloaking your interface into colors that you like.
This is sure a fun way to get rid of boring gray shado on Leopard Interface.
As you may notice, our blog recently is not updated since a month ago after I have released the christmas ball icons. I never thinking to neglected this blog, never ever!
The reason is, that I am so busy with work. Our studio just got another deal with Green Patch .Inc to work on their graphics development. The job for (Lil) Green Patch .Inc is handled by Petshopbox Studio, our sister studio. I can’t give you guys details yet, since everything is not published on (Lil) Green Patch application. For a starter, if you play (Lil) Green Patch in your facebook, you will se a house tab. The house graphics are created by Petshopbox Studio.
Our main team is still working on Handipoints. There are a lot of improvement lately on HandiLand. And there are will be some new features, and I am sure, our work days will be a lot busier than last year. And that’s good thing, right?
The another reason that kept me busy is that I and my friends in Indonesia started a blog networking company. Right now there are 3 blogs on our network: Make Mac, Twentea and Ruang Freelance. We are targeting a niche readers, that’s very rare tactics for Indonesian pro bloggers. This just started more than 2 months, so everything is unsettled and messy, and everyone is doing everything at the moment. Felix has wrote announcement earlier.
I have added Resources links on the sidebar. I will post anything that GUI related resources, hope you guys like it.
Besides the things that kept my day hours busy, I will try to committed to this blog and write GUI related news, publish icons, and listing some excellent themes.
Year 2008 is coming to and end, it almost feel like yesterday I made our old Christmass Dolls Icon. This year, I am presenting you the shiny balls of social icons. There are 4 icons ready for Mac, Windows or Web in PNG format.
The icons was designed during my free time, I only managed to get 5 icons done; facebook, RSS, technorati, twitter and Delicious. I hope you all enjoy the icons. Merry christmas and happy new years from Indonesia.
