Illustrator Froze OS X

I was working on a mascot design for my internal project using Adobe Illustrator, after a few minutes working on the outline. I want to change the stroke point. But, when i access the stroke palette, Illustrator frozen and OS X too. I can't click anything, keyboard wasn't working either, the only thing that survived was iTunes music. I tried hard reset my MacBook Pro, and tried another shot with Illustrator, same thing happen. And so does the second attempt result same nasty frozen.

Tried to look using Google, no luck. So with desperated mind, I did reset my Illustrator workspace to basic.

Looks like this is a bull eye fix. Adobe Illustrator no longer frezze up the system.
