Mozilla Firefox new website design

Mozilla is changing their website design into cartoony or friendlier approach with the release of Firefox 3. I like the overall design, love the illustrator, but there are some thing that makes me “hmmmmm….“ you know..wondering why are they make this things

Screenshot of Firefox on the page is not match with my operating system. Why are they do not take some effort to detect visitor operating system and display a screenshot according to visitor operating system. It’s a little touch that make you feel that you are on the right page of downloadable Firefox for Mac.

This one also caught my attention. Does Mozilla think Safari as a threat? K’ mon, the only threat to the internetz is Internet Explorer. Safari is a compliance web browser, and a good one. Ok, it might be not detecting anti pishing, or user able to changing its theme. Safari market share is also smaller than Firefox. I am not trying to defending Safari, what do you think about this one?

Than, I double check using Vista, now the versus is against Internet Explorer 7, good. That’s mean I was wrong about Firefox treating Safari as a direct opponent. These time they detected visitor’s OS, but why not that screenshot in the front page?

Internet Explorer 7 has anti phishing feature, the active security column should be check-marked on IE 7 column.

At least they snapped correct screenshots on tips and trick page.

Update

It seems that Mozilla Firefox new site is diplaying Vista sreenshot in Safari or Opera, but not if you browse the site using Firefox. That’s mean they are detecting the browsers OS version, if Firefox, lets display the great Firefox 3 screenshot, if not lets display the non Aero Vista screenshot.
